Using Vegetation as a Wetland Indicator:  

(also known as Day-1 of our Wetland Delineation Workshop) 

Course No. 6767 - six Cont. Ed. Credits (General) for Florida Surveyors or 7.5 PDH

A one day study of how vegetation is used in the wetland delineation process.  This course focuses on the development of plant identification skills.  The class is approximately 1/2 classroom training and 1/2 outdoor training.

Using Soils as a Wetland Indicator:  Course No. 6768 - six Cont. Ed. Credits (General) for Florida Surveyors or 7.5 PDH

(also known as Day-2 of our Wetland Delineation Workshop) A one day study of how soils are used in the wetland delineation process.  This course covers the basics of hydric soil identification.  The class is approximately 1/2 classroom training and 1/2 outdoor training.

Army Corps of Engineers Wetland Delineation Methods:  Course No. 6844 - six Cont. Ed. Credits (General) for Fla. Surveyors or 7.5 PDH

(also known as Day-3 of our Wetland Delineation Workshop) This one-day course covering the wetland delineation methods given in the 1987 Wetland Delineation Manual prepared by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.  The class is approximately 1/2 classroom training and 1/2 outdoor training.

Florida Wetland Delineation Laws - Ch. 62-340 FAC:  Course No. 7429 - six Cont. Ed. Credits (MTS/LR) for Florida Surveyors or 7.5 PDH

(also known as Day-4 of our Wetland Delineation Workshop) This one-day course covering Florida's wetland delineation methods given in Chapter 62-340 of Florida Administrative Code.  The class is approximately 1/2 classroom training and 1/2 outdoor training.

Wetland Delineation Workshop:  Course No. 6767, 6768, 6844, and 7429 - Thirty (30) Professional development hours (same as 18 general credit, plus 6 Florida law credits for a total of 24 continuing education credits for Florida Surveyors.)

 

A comprehensive four-day wetland delineation workshops designed especially with the Florida land development consultant in mind.  The first two days of the workshop covers wetland vegetation and wetland soil identification.  Day three covers wetland delineation methods used by the Army Corps of Engineers in establishing federal wetland jurisdiction.  Day four focuses on the State of Florida's wetland delineation methods.  The morning session of each day is in the classroom with the afternoon session being held outdoors with lots of practical illustrations and hands-on-training.  The fourth day of the workshop may be omitted by those not interested in learning Florida's wetland delineation methods.

Introduction to GPS Surveying:  Course No. 7431 - six Cont. Ed. Credits (General) for Florida Surveyors or 7.5 PDH

A six hour introductory level course for surveyors, engineers, and mappers  teaching basic GPS concepts, principles, and measurement procedures. Topics include Absolute Positioning, Differential Positioning, Static GPS, RTK GPS Survey, and more.

Simplified Tree Identification:  Course No. 7433 - six Cont. Ed. Credits (General) for Florida Surveyors or 7.5 PDH

A one day course that takes a common sense approach to tree identification.  This course is perfect for individuals without a technical background in botany.  This course is approximately 1/2 classroom and 1/2 outdoors.  (not available as a Home Study Course)

Florida Subdivision Plat Law and MTS - Home Study: (Course Number: 7438):
will be useful to surveyors and engineers who prepare subdivision plats and maps for recording within Florida's Public Records. The course covers procedures laid out in Chapter 177 Part 1 of Florida Statutes regarding the preparation of recorded subdivision plats. The course also explains how Florida's Minimum Technical Standards for Surveyors and Mappers (61G17-6 F.A.C.) relates to the recording of a subdivision plat and how all boundary surveys should be done in order to meet these standards. Florida Case Law on Non-Tidal Water Boundaries - Home Study: (Course Number: 7439):
based on Florida case law concerning the determination and location of the boundaries of Florida’s lakes and rivers. Specific Florida cases have been selected to illustrate the various aspects of non-tidal water boundaries. Sovereignty submerged lands, navigability, and ordinary high water line location will be studied through the use of interesting examples found in Florida’s rich case law history dealing with this subject. Introduction to Wetland Delineation - Home Study: (Course Number: 7440): 
an interesting introductory level course on wetland delineation. Wetland delineation knowledge is a must for any surveyor or engineer working within the land development arena. This course focuses on the basics of wetland identification and delineation as well as the history of and recent developments in wetland protection regulations. CE Credit: 6 Florida Continuing Education Credits, General Category for Florida Surveyors. (Designed to be completed in six hours). 
 
Home Study Courses from Land Pro Seminars include a comb bound “Home Study Manual” suitable for your independent study and as a handy reference for your technical/professional library.  Each course is shipped with a 20 question multi-choice exam.  The completed exam should be mailed or faxed back to Land Pro Seminars (LPS) within 180 days of the date of shipping for grading by LPS.  A grade of 70% (or better) correct must be obtained by Florida Surveyors or Florida Engineers in order to receive CE credit.  The exam may be re-taken as many times as necessary in order to obtain credit within the 180 day time limit at no additional cost.  The exam will not be returned to you.  You will receive notification of pass or fail.  Upon passing a certificate of completion will be issued with the student’s name and percentage of correct answers noted on the certificate.
