Day 2:  Fla. Wetland Delineation Law–Ch 62-340 F.A.C. (#7429) 6 CEC L/R (7.5 PDH)

Day 3:  Using Vegetation as a Wetland Indicator (#6767) 6 CEC General (7.5 PDH)

Day 4:  Using Soils as a Wetland Indicator (#6768) 6 CEC General (7.5 PDH)

 

These courses are approximately 1/2 classroom and 1/2 field.  

 

Instructor – David Melvin, PLS, CFM -:  A Professional Land Surveyor with professional registration in Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina.  He is also certified as a “Certified Floodplain Manager”, (CFM), by the Association of State Floodplain Managers and is an experienced wetland delineator.  David’s educational background (Land Surveying Degree, University of Florida, 1981) and over 25 years of practical experience as a consultant specializing in land boundaries, floodplain issues, wetland mapping, and land surveying regulations uniquely qualifies him as the instructor.

Introduction to Wetland Delineation - Home Study: (Course Number: 7440): 
an interesting introductory level course on wetland delineation. Wetland delineation knowledge is a must for any surveyor or engineer working within the land development arena. This course focuses on the basics of wetland identification and delineation as well as the history of and recent developments in wetland protection regulations. CE Credit: 6 Florida Continuing Education Credits, General Category for Florida Surveyors. (Designed to be completed in six hours). 
 
Home Study Courses from Land Pro Seminars include a bound “Home Study Manual” suitable for your independent study and as a handy reference for your technical/professional library.  Each course is shipped with a 20 question multi-choice exam.  The completed exam should be mailed or faxed back to Land Pro Seminars before the expiration date shown on the examination for grading by LPS.  A grade of 70% (or better) correct must be obtained by Florida Surveyors or Florida Engineers in order to receive CE credit.  The exam may be re-taken as many times as necessary in order to obtain credit before the expiration date at no additional cost.  The exam will not be returned to you.  You will receive notification of pass or fail.  Upon passing a certificate of completion will be issued with the student’s name.
